RCMB1 carried out its first ever webinar here in La Union on May 21, 2020 amidst the restraint implemented due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The activity went well and good so far,” Director Brenda Rose C. Odsey said, following a report from Sr. LEO Lester B. Panem who conducted the online seminar. “Aside from minor glitches in the internet connection, things went smoothly.”

Universal Leaf Philippines, Inc. was the beneficiary company of the said activity. It was originally a plant-level orientation seminar scheduled on March 23, 2020, but did not push through due to the mandatory lockdown imposed upon Luzon a week prior.

The said webinar was the second orientation for the company on the Board’s programs following one conducted in January 2020 where the audience was mostly management personnel. The webinar was conducted for the benefit of the employees who are willing to adopt the program and are interested in working towards the improvement of the labor relations in the company.

It was attended by a total of 41 employees (M – 29, F – 12) representing the company’s Agoo, La Union and Candon City, Ilocos Sur offices. The platform used was the free version of Microsoft Teams which was set for the Branch to view the participants from both offices seated inside conference rooms.

Questions after the lecture were either live or posted in the chatroom. Inquiries included clarifications on when they could start the program, benefits to employees, and effect of the program to current monetary benefits the employees are receiving.
